About project

European Union Erasmus+ KA2 project “Digitally for climate” No. 2021-1-LV01-KA220-SCH-000029630

Implementation period: January 1st 2022 - June 30th 2023

Climate change is one of the biggest threats to our environment and economy. The effects of climate change are already visible and are expected to become even more dangerous.

Digitally for Climate (Digi4Clima) project will establish international cooperation to contribute to raising awareness of two global issues – fight against climate change and digital transformation. As society progresses, it is necessary to look at the process of environmental degradation, therefore the idea of our project is to help solve environmental problems by educating teachers and students through the usage of digital technologies.

The goal of Digi4Clima project is to develop and promote a digital learning tool about climate change that will raise awareness of environmental sustainability and promote digital literacy. The tool will support teachers in educating elementary school students about the dangerous effects of climate change on Earth, developing a caring relationship with nature, raising their awareness of the consequences of their daily actions and encouraging them to live a more environmentally friendly life. The developed digital learning tool will provide teachers and students with a high-quality and easy to use resource for learning about environmental sustainability. It will also be used as educational tool for educators in the use of information and communication technologies in face-to-face and distance learning.

During the project, a training will be organized for a group of teacher-researchers to provide a necessary support for the developed learning tool. The project team will learn from good practices in project countries, improve their knowledge of environmental sustainability issues and gain new skills in using IT tools. The training will be held in three sessions in Latvia, Croatia, and Lithuania.

The main project results developed during the project are:

  1. Curriculum "Climate and its change"
  2. Guidelines for teachers
  3. Digital learning tool "Climate and its change"

Materials will be published on an open access platform in Latvian, Lithuanian, Croatian and English language. All materials will be tested, and a network of students and teachers will be established in the piloting countries – a network for the exchange of experiences on the use of digital learning tool and raising awareness of climate change. A special event will be organized in all partner countries to disseminate the project results, to promote the digital learning tool and its most successful use, both in distance learning and in direct teaching process.

The project coordinator is Zemgale Region Human Resource and Competences Development Centre from Latvia with partners Center of Technical Culture Rijeka from Croatia and Siauliai Ragaine progymnasium from Lithuania.
